Our students embarked on an exciting journey to the mountainous Abu Ghailan Park in Gharyan, where they had a picnic. The trip also included a fascinating visit to the local pottery factory, where students learned about the art and tradition of pottery-making as seen in the pictures!

Celebrating kindness in action during RAK Week!
Year 7 students and our student ambassador Rouh explored the theme of kindness through a thoughtful activity where one student shared a beautiful poem on kindness, while another gave practical ‘10 Different Acts of Kindness' with Year 5 and Ms Sundus.
School Ambassador Elections 2024/2025
Today, students from Year 1 to Year 10/11 participated in our school’s Student Ambassador's Election, casting their votes with excitement and pride. It was great to see everyone getting involved, and learning about supporting their peers.
Our students showed responsibility and school spirit as they made their choices, contributing to the future of our school. Each vote counted, and the enthusiasm was inspiring! The results will be announced tomorrow by midday!

Pearson Libyan Conference 2024
Today, TIS joined educators and administrators in Cairo for the Pearson Libyan Schools’ annual meeting, where innovative teaching methods, curriculum improvements, and resources to enhance education for Pearson Libyan international schools students were discussed.
Tripoli International School has completed its 20th year as a center of this highly distinguished education company.

Summer School & Robotics Program 2024
Open Day and KG Graduation (June 2024)
On 10th June 2024, Tripoli International School held its Open Day for 2024/2025 Academic Year. The event was attended by Ms Najah Glaisa (CEO of LINE), Mr Mohamed Abuturkia (Chairman of LINE), Ms Salsabeel (Principal) and Ms Nadia (Vice Principal), who gave a brief background on the history of the school, its accreditation by Pearson, the current curriculum, and renovations to its facilities. The school also introduced their new international South African teachers, Ms Glenda, Ms Rume and Mr Mikhlye, who spoke about themselves and their experiences in teaching.
Indeed an exciting day, the graduating students of KG 2 were celebrated for their success. The event was wrapped up with them singing songs to commemorate their achievements with Ms Ansam and Ms Noeme.
A special thanks to Rouh Nwegi (Year 10) who shared her experience as a student with TIS.

Debate (February 2024)
Year 5 students with Ms Rabiya held a debate session on the topic 'JUNK FOOD vs HEALTHY FOOD'. Despite most of us siding with Healthy Food, we could not disagree with the team supporting junk food!
Junk Food or Healthy Food, we all know a Balanced Diet is the answer to healthier living. Way to go, Year 5!

Senior School Trip to Leptis Magna 2023 (December 2023)
TIS Students with Ms Najah Glaisa and the staff members from Years 5 to 11 embarked on a field trip on Friday to Leptis Magna, one of the Roman sites in Libya. The trip included a visit to the ancient city where they were able to see some of the greatest achievements of the Roman civilization with the local tour guide. Also, they saw artifacts dating back to the Roman civilization, including the Arch of Septimus Severus and the Amphitheater where they sang the school song, and not to forget, they spotted a dolphin in the sea.
Undoubtedly, the field trip was informative and enjoyable, and provided an unforgettable experience for our students!
Evening Reception 2023
Ms Najah, Mr Abuturkia, Dr Mustafa, Ms Nadia, Ms Salsabeel and our staff members took the opportunity to meet with the parents at a lovely evening event held yesterday.
It was amazing to see the positive attitude and engagement from the parents, and we are proud to have such supportive parents.

Spelling Bee 2023/2024
TIS celebrated the Spelling Bee Competition 23/24, an annual event in which students of different grades come together to showcase their spelling prowess.
The spelling bee competition was not only a chance for the students to test their knowledge of words but also an opportunity for the school community of Year 7-11 to come together. In addition to this, the event also wrapped up the English Week and the children were given certificates of essay writing as well as story writing which were held throughout the week.
We congratulate all those who participated in making this day as memorable as ever. The winners were Mohamed Jamal, Abdulrahman Amar and Leen Mamoun.
Mini-Spelling Bee 2023/2024

ENGLISH WEEK - Year 5
We share a glimpse of our Year 5 students having a fun and educational time with Ms Rabiya, as they attempted a word search. Our students were all focused and determined to complete the task and were able to find all the words on the search. This activity helped our students to improve their vocabulary and reading skills.
ENGLISH WEEK
It's time to recognize and appreciate one of the world's most versatile and expressive languages, and we couldn't be more excited. We will have a creative writing contest and a poetry slam for those who love to express themselves through writing. And, of course, we will be showcasing some of the best-written essays.
As a team of dedicated teachers, we will be there every step of the way to ensure that this week is a fun and enriching experience for everyone. So come on, let's celebrate this glorious language together! The day is filled with entertaining and informative activities, so don't miss out on the fun!
Dental Inspection - Year 3
Ms Soha organised a day of inspecting toddlers and teenagers' teeth around the school, to make sure their smiles are healthy and bright. The students were divided into teams and equipped with toothbrushes, floss, and other dental hygiene tools. They inspected the children's teeth, cleaning and fixing any issues they found. The children were fascinated by the process and thrilled to learn about the importance of oral health.
Paper Chromatography - Year 10/11
We would like to share an exciting activity that has been taking place in our Year 10/11 chemistry class. As part of their studies, the students have been working with Mr. Waqar to learn about paper chromatography. Paper chromatography is a lab technique used to separate different compounds in a mixture. The students have been working in small groups, carefully recording their observations as they performed the experiment under Mr. Waqar's guidance. One of the steps in the experiment involves calculating the retardation factor value, which is used to determine the separation efficiency and resolution of the compounds. The students have been diligently working through the calculations, applying their knowledge of chemistry to arrive at the correct answer.
After-School Clubs 2023/2024
We are excited to announce that there are a variety of after-school clubs available to our students at the Tripoli International School from 2:30 pm to 3:15 pm from Sunday to Thursday.
These clubs offer students the opportunity to explore their interests and passions in a fun and interactive setting. Some of the clubs available include football, Math, English and Science. Our teachers have designed these clubs to be engaging and enjoyable while also providing students with valuable life skills and experiences. We encourage all students to take advantage of these opportunities and discover their talents.

Roll & Dice Word Game - Year 1
We believe in fostering a love for learning at a young age. That's why our year 1 students have been enjoying the game 'Roll the dice and read' with Ms Munaza. The students roll a dice and are asked to read out loud the word on the white board. This game not only helps students develop their reading skills but also allows them to have fun while doing so. It also helps them to improve their speaking skills.
Pearson Edexcel Event - 2023/2024
Ms Najah Glaisa, CEO/Owner of LINE COMPANY, attended the Libya School Leaders' Introduction to Pearson Edexcel event in Cairo, Egypt, where Pearson introduced new qualifications and highlighted more support and resources which is available to students and teachers. Alongside this, Ms Najah also met with other school leaders and discussed their experiences with Pearson and how improving the school system in Libya is of utmost importance.
Biodegradable Items - Year 4
Year 4 students with Mr Abdulaziz on the go with the practical lesson of biodegradable items available all around us! They will be monitoring how long it will take for bread, glass, and plastic to decompose if buried in the soil.
FUN FACT: Bread decomposes in 2 weeks, while plastic takes around 20-500 years and glass close to a million years.
